# Ρύθμιση του Docker

Το Overleaf εκτελείται με Docker. Πρέπει να εγκαταστήσετε:

* Μηχανή Docker (Docker CE)
* Πρόσθετο Docker Compose (`docker compose`, v2)

Αυτά τα βήματα στοχεύουν σε ένα πρόσφατο Ubuntu LTS (20.04/22.04/24.04).

Αποφύγετε την εγκατάσταση `docker.io` από το προεπιλεγμένο αποθετήριο apt του Ubuntu.\
Χρησιμοποιήστε το επίσημο αποθετήριο της Docker, ώστε να έχετε μια πρόσφατη έκδοση του Docker και το `docker compose` πρόσθετο.

### 1) Αφαιρέστε τα παλιά/συγκρουόμενα πακέτα (αν υπάρχουν)

Αν το Docker είχε εγκατασταθεί προηγουμένως από άλλη πηγή, αφαιρέστε το πρώτα:

sudo apt remove $(dpkg --get-selections docker.io docker-compose docker-compose-v2 docker-doc podman-docker containerd runc | cut -f1)
```

Αυτή η εντολή είναι ασφαλής αν κάποια πακέτα δεν είναι εγκατεστημένα.

### 2) Προσθέστε το επίσημο αποθετήριο apt της Docker

Εγκαταστήστε τις προαπαιτούμενες εξαρτήσεις:

sudo apt update
sudo apt install -y ca-certificates curl
```

Προσθέστε το κλειδί GPG της Docker:

sudo install -m 0755 -d /etc/apt/keyrings
sudo curl -fsSL https://download.docker.com/linux/ubuntu/gpg -o /etc/apt/keyrings/docker.asc
sudo chmod a+r /etc/apt/keyrings/docker.asc

Προσθέστε το αποθετήριο:

Components: stable
Signed-By: /etc/apt/keyrings/docker.asc
EOF

sudo apt update
```

### 3) Εγκαταστήστε το Docker Engine + το πρόσθετο Compose

Εγκαταστήστε το Docker και το πρόσθετο Compose:

sudo apt install docker-ce docker-ce-cli containerd.io docker-buildx-plugin docker-compose-plugin
```

Εκκίνηση του Docker κατά την εκκίνηση:

```bash
sudo systemctl enable --now docker
```

### 4) Επαληθεύστε την εγκατάσταση

Αυτές οι εντολές θα πρέπει να εκτελεστούν χωρίς σφάλματα:

```bash
docker --version
docker compose version
sudo docker run --rm hello-world
docker ps
```

### 5) (Προαιρετικό) Εκτελέστε το Docker χωρίς sudo

Προσθέστε τον χρήστη σας στην `docker` ομάδα:

```bash
sudo usermod -aG docker $USER
```

Έπειτα **αποσυνδεθείτε και συνδεθείτε ξανά**, ή εκτελέστε:

```bash
newgrp docker
```

Τώρα αυτό θα πρέπει να λειτουργεί χωρίς `sudo`:

```bash
docker ps
```

Η `docker` ομάδα έχει πρόσβαση ισοδύναμη με root στον κεντρικό υπολογιστή.\
Αυτό αναμένεται για τυπικές εγκαταστάσεις Overleaf, και είναι ιδιαίτερα σημαντικό αν ενεργοποιήσετε το Sandboxed Compiles.
